Rain, Love it, Hate it

gloom
How Rain Feels to Me

Rain, I love it and I hate it. I love the green it brings, how it helps my garden and saves me money because I don't have to water the garden. I love the clean smell it brings to the air and the crispness it brings to the colors as they are all washed clean of dust and dirt and pollen.

I hate rain. It makes the days gloomy, dark, dank and unpleasant all around. Dampness is painful, especially cold dampness. Dark isn't fun except at night when it's supposed to be dark, gloomy, is horrible.

Gloomy, that's what the sky looks like when the rain just won't stop, when the sun won't come out even for a minute and when all the world in colored gray by the rain, clouds and general malaise brought on by the rain, thunder and darkness of a gloomy day.

There can be gloomy days without rain, there should be rain whenever it's gloomy, at least then you know that there is some benefit from the gloom, but gloom without rain, snow or something to show for the lack of sun is just plain mean of someone, but I'm not sure who to blame. Mother Nature, God (same thing I think) or Satan, or maybe all the people in the world who are being gloomy brings on a gloomy day. That could be it you know.

The weather isn't made by Mother Nature, God or anyone except all the people in the world. it's sort of like Mae West said about airplanes, they only stay up when people believe they will, otherwise the fall down (paraphrasing here). The weather is only good when enough people believe it will be good. It's dark and dank when too many people are feeling dark and dank and gloomy.

Wow, do you suppose that global warming is because too many people believe in it? If that's the case if we all start believe that there is no global warming maybe it will go away. Now that's something to dwell on, contemplate, and generally think about.

OK, here's what I think we should all do, especially those of us who hate gloomy, dark and dank days. First we have to start believing that it will only rain, snow or whatever at night, between the hours of, maybe 11:00 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. (sorry early risers). Then we all have to start believing that there is no global warming but that the weather is in a natural cycle and what we are experiencing is not a problem and will change to something else soon. Then we have to start believing that the hole in the ozone layer is a hoax perpetuated by the powers that be and that it isn't there.

This will make all the things that concern many of us around the world go away and we can all be happy and safe and secure in the knowledge that we are helping the world be well and the earth survive. And when we find a negative thinker among us we will send him or her to a re-education center where they will be taught the error of their ways and they will also start thinking that all the problems faced by the world are made up and are not really there.

You know I just realized we could do the same thing with famine, disease, war, hate and all the problems facing us, or more appropriately, apparently facing us. I blame the modern press, they all lie to sell their advertising whether on-line, on TV, in print or whatever, they lie to make up what isn't real.

The hatred throughout the world isn't real it's made up by the press, lawyers and politicians throughout the world and they should be made to change. Throw them out, re-educate them to the proper and positive way of thinking and see what happens.

Wouldn't life be great if we could really do this? Just thinking about it brings a smile to my face, and it's a gloomy day here (ugh I hate that part). Of course, some of the nay sayers, the politicians, lawyers, generals, and most importantly the press, will say this idea is wrong, that only the negatives can be told, that they are the most important part of life and if we tell the truth about the good things they won't be able to feed their families, that their mortgages won't be paid, etc.

Well I say to them, get real jobs, or do the one you have properly, with responsibility, honesty and with doing good as your goal and maybe you will be able to continue to feed your families, pay your bills and drive your nice cars. But until then, maybe it wouldn't hurt for you and all those who support your negative views to feel what most of the rest of the world feels. That would be fear, fear of being hungry, fear of being without a home, food, or heat.

Fear of being bombed out of their homes, not having clothes for their children, no education, you know the things that you have in abundance and take for granted. Maybe that's what we have to do with our politicians, lawyers, press people and all those who think that negative is the only way to sell something and that keeping their jobs secure is the most important thing they can do in life, instead of doing good and helping the world change.

Reporters don't report news anymore they make it up. Watch the internet, anyone can start a rumor that turns into fact at the drop of a hat. Yes, even I could do it, I won't but I could, so could you. Go ahead try, see what happens, all it takes is an email to your whole mailing list and before you know it it's around the world and then it's news.

Oh, advertising executives should be included in this too, perpetuate some of the most horrendous lies told, not to mention the pain and problems they cause, think smoking advertising campaigns to start.

You have just read a fine example of how my mind works, harking back to river of consciousness, I start out about rain, gloomy days, work to silly solutions, or not so silly, and segue right into the woes of the world and then take off on the press, politicians, lawyers, and powers that be (PTBs). All this came from one thought, “I hate gloomy days.” Amazing how my mind works, scary too.

Have a sunny day, I'm hoping to tomorrow, maybe this afternoon if Mother Nature and the Great Goddess of Sunlight listens to my moans. TTFN
